Sister Spotlight: Amanda Wiboon

Amanda Wiboon is a junior apart of MC 22 majoring in marketing. This past fall recruitment, she served as a rho gamma where she helped guide potential new members to find their forever home. She said this was one of the most rewarding opportunities she’s ever been a part of and that she felt so loved running home to her sisters.

Not only is Amanda a member of Gamma Phi Beta, she is also very involved across the FSU community. Amanda is currently working for University Tees. She started her journey with them as a sales and marketing intern and then became a campus manager. She recently got promoted to the Campus Director for FSU. In doing so, she’s learned important skills such as the importance of communication and maintaining healthy relationships that she can use in her professional and personal life. Her favorite project that she’s worked on was designing the shirts for our Grilled Cheese with GPhiBs philanthropy event earlier this semester. “I have always been drawn to apparel so working for UTees brought that passion to life by combining my life for greek life with my love for fashion,” says Amanda.

Recently, Amanda has also gotten involved in the FSU Student Foundation. This organization focuses on fundraising for the student body. She said she first heard about the Student Foundation earlier this year when she donated to one of her close friends who was involved in fundraising to help the FSU Marching Chiefs travel to the FSU football game in Ireland. Amanda said she knew she wanted to be a part of an organization that would help “foster a spirit of philanthropy on campus and enhance the collegiate experience for every student.”

Additionally, Amanda is a writer for HerCampus, an online newspaper for collegiate women to write about what they are passionate about and inspire others. This is currently her second semester in the role and she’s gotten to write about various topics, her favorite being her article “Phone Eats First: Why I’m Obsessed with Taking Food Pics.” She said she enjoyed writing this article as she was able to show her personality through her writing and share her love for food photography with others.

Amanda says that these organizations have helped her feel more confident about her future career in marketing. “I have met many amazing people throughout my memberships and hope to utilize my networking to find my dream career,” said Amanda.

We are so proud of you Amanda for all of your successes and can't wait to see what you accomplish next!
